Redmon Funeral Home
Redmon Funeral Home is one of the funeral homes we are glad to recommend to families in Stow, Hudson, and the towns around them. They have looked after local families since 1968. We are Reserve Memorials, a separate local business in Hudson, and this page is our honest guide to what Redmon offers and how a memorial fits in when your family is ready for one.
About Redmon Funeral Home
Redmon Funeral Home stands at 3633 Darrow Road in Stow, a few minutes from Hudson, Munroe Falls, and Cuyahoga Falls. Bruce and Lou Ann Redmon opened the home in 1968, and it has served this community ever since. Their son Keith Redmon grew up in the work, began his apprenticeship in 1989, and has been a licensed funeral director since 1991. In 2021 the family chose to sell to Rollings Funeral Service, a family owned funeral service company, on the understanding that Keith, his family, and the staff would stay and keep running Redmon the way it has always been run.
Families across Stow, Hudson, Kent, Tallmadge, Cuyahoga Falls, Silver Lake, Munroe Falls, and Akron have trusted Redmon with the hardest week of their lives. That kind of trust is earned one family at a time, and it is why their name is on this page.
Their website: Redmon Funeral Home.
What Redmon handles for a family
Redmon is a full service funeral home. Based on what they publish, that includes:
- Funeral services and burials, planned with a licensed director
- Cremation services
- Planning ahead, for families who want arrangements settled in advance
- Online obituaries and tributes, where friends and family can share memories and send flowers
- An online funeral planner, for families who would rather start quietly at home
- A veterans information page, pointing families to VA burial benefits, headstones, and flags
- Remembrance items and grief support resources
If you are not sure what your family needs, that is normal. Call them and ask. Helping families sort that out is the core of what a good funeral home does.
How a memorial fits alongside a service here
The service comes first, and Redmon handles it. The memorial usually comes later, and that is the part we handle.
Most families order a headstone weeks or months after the burial. There is no deadline and no penalty for taking your time. When you are ready, Reserve designs the stone with you, confirms the rules of your cemetery in writing, handles the approval paperwork, and installs the finished memorial. If your family plot is at Silver Springs Cemetery in Stow, at one of the Hudson cemeteries such as Markillie or St. Mary, or anywhere else nearby, we work with that cemetery office directly.
If your family chose cremation, the choices are wider than most people expect. A cremation memorial can be a traditional stone at a family plot, a place in a columbarium, or a memorial at home. Redmon can walk you through the cremation side, and we can walk you through the memorial side, whenever you are ready to think about it.
For veterans, the VA provides a government headstone or marker at no cost for the stone itself. Families sometimes pair it with a private memorial, or choose a private stone that carries the service record with more room to tell the story. We can explain both paths plainly and confirm any cemetery fees in writing before anything is ordered.
Three questions families ask us most
When do we have to decide on a stone?
You do not have to decide during the funeral week. Most families come to us one to six months later. The stone will wait for you.
Who deals with the cemetery?
We do. Approval paperwork and rule checks are part of every memorial we build, at no separate charge.
Can the stone match one already on our family plot?
Almost always, yes. Bring us a photo or the lot details and we will match granite, shape, and lettering as closely as the cemetery allows.

Planning ahead
Redmon offers families the chance to plan arrangements in advance, and Reserve offers the same for the memorial itself. Planning ahead means your family is not making hard choices in a hard week, and it means the stone says what you would have wanted it to say. Our preplanning page explains how that works, with no obligation attached.

A note about this page
Reserve Memorials wrote this page because we respect Redmon Funeral Home and the families it serves. We are separate local businesses. Redmon did not pay for this page and does not endorse us by appearing on it. It is our recommendation, freely given, because families ask us who we trust, and this is one of our honest answers.
